ZipHop Privacy Policy
Last updated: September 16, 2026
Rimrock Apps, LLC, a Washington State limited liability company ("Rimrock Apps," "we," "us," or "our"), operates the ZipHop mobile application (the "App" or "ZipHop"). This Privacy Policy explains what information ZipHop collects, how it's used, and what third parties it's shared with. It's incorporated by reference into our Terms of Service.
If you have questions, contact us at hello@rimrockapps.com.
1. No Account Required
ZipHop does not require you to create an account, and we do not collect a name, email address, or password to use the App. There is no Rimrock Apps server-side account tied to you.
2. Information Stored on Your Device
When you use ZipHop, the following is stored locally on your device (not on our servers):
- Trip details you enter (flight number, origin/destination airport, departure address, travel dates)
- Profile preferences (saved home/work addresses, TSA PreCheck/CLEAR status, lounge membership, pace preference, and similar settings)
- App preferences (such as light/dark theme)
This data stays on your device and is used only to calculate your personalized leave-by time. If you delete the App or clear a trip within the App, that locally stored data is removed from your device.
3. Information Shared with Third-Party Services
To provide ZipHop's core features, certain information you enter is sent to third-party services we rely on:
- Flight status data: Your flight number and travel date are sent to FlightAware (AeroAPI) to retrieve real-time flight status, gate, terminal, and scheduled departure information.
- Drive time estimates: Your departure address (typed or saved as "Home"/"Work") and destination airport are sent to Google (Routes API) to calculate an estimated real-time drive duration. We only request a duration — not a full route, and no separate location history.
- Purchases and subscriptions: If you purchase ZipHop Premium or Lifetime, the transaction is handled entirely by Apple's App Store and our subscription management partner, RevenueCat. Rimrock Apps does not receive or store your payment card information — Apple and RevenueCat handle that in accordance with their own privacy policies.
These third parties process the information solely to return the result ZipHop requested (a flight status, a drive time, or a completed purchase) and are bound by their own privacy practices, which we don't control. We encourage you to review:
- FlightAware's Privacy Policy
- Google's Privacy Policy
- Apple's Privacy Policy
- RevenueCat's Privacy Policy
4. Location Data
ZipHop does not collect your device's GPS location. You enter your departure address yourself (or select a saved "Home" or "Work" address from your profile) — the App does not access or request your device's current location.
If we add real GPS-based location in the future, iOS will prompt you for permission before any location data is accessed, and we will update this Privacy Policy to describe that use before it takes effect.
5. Analytics and Advertising
ZipHop does not currently use third-party analytics SDKs, advertising networks, or ad-tracking identifiers. We don't sell your information, and we don't share it for third-party advertising or cross-app tracking purposes. If this changes in the future, we'll update this policy and, where required by Apple's App Tracking Transparency framework, ask for your permission first.
6. Data Retention and Your Choices
Because trip and profile data lives on your device rather than on our servers, you're in control of it directly:
- Clear a trip at any time from within the App to remove that trip's data.
- Delete the App to remove all locally stored ZipHop data from your device.
- Manage your subscription (including cancellation) anytime in your Apple ID account settings.
Because we don't hold a server-side copy of your personal data, there's typically nothing further for us to delete on our end — but if you ever have a question about what's been shared with our third-party providers (Section 3), contact us at hello@rimrockapps.com and we'll help.
7. Children's Privacy
ZipHop is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us information through the App, contact us at hello@rimrockapps.com and we'll address it.
8. Data Security
We rely on industry-standard practices (including HTTPS encryption for requests to third-party services) to help protect information in transit. However, no method of electronic storage or transmission is 100% secure, and we can't guarantee absolute security.
9. Your Privacy Rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, or request deletion of personal information collected about you. Because ZipHop stores your trip and profile data locally on your device rather than on our servers, the most direct way to exercise these rights is through the in-App controls described in Section 6. We do not sell personal information. If you have additional questions or requests regarding your data, contact us at hello@rimrockapps.com.
10. International Users
ZipHop is designed primarily around U.S. airports and flights. If you use ZipHop from outside the United States, be aware that the third-party services described in Section 3 (FlightAware, Google, Apple, RevenueCat) may process information on servers located in the United States or elsewhere.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we'll update the "Last updated" date above and, where appropriate, provide additional notice within the App.
